The Fibonacci Wall
The Fibonacci Sequence is a series of numbers where the next number is the sum of the previous two numbers in the sequence. Starting with 1, add 1 + 1 and the next number in the sequence is 2. Add 2 + 1 and the next number in sequence is 3. Add 3 + 2, and the next number in the sequence is 5.
The sequence starts as follows: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, and so on.
It may sound complicated to some, but it turns out that the Fibonacci sequence numbers are closely related to the Golden Ratio, which is considered to be an ideal in design.
The architect for this project set this challenge to our team – can we trim the wall following the Fibonacci sequence? The answer – YES.
Watch this video for a before and after look at how we selected the center point, then calculated the distance between each strip of moulding, plus how it all fit together with our patented continual casing system.
